What is Social Dog Walk?

A group walk for sociable dogs who love company.

Social Dog Walk is a 60-minute small-group walk for friendly dogs who enjoy being around other dogs. We carefully match dogs by temperament, confidence, size, play style and energy rather than simply putting every available dog together.

That gives everyone space to sniff, explore, exercise and settle into a familiar routine with compatible companions.

How group matching works

The group is built around compatibility, not empty spaces.

Before a dog joins Social Dog Walk, we look at how they feel around other dogs and what kind of company makes the walk enjoyable. A group walk is only useful when the dogs actually suit one another.

Temperament

We consider whether a dog is relaxed, excitable, cautious or easily overwhelmed around canine company.

Energy & play style

Dogs with wildly different energy levels or ways of interacting are not automatically placed together.

Confidence

A dog should be able to enjoy the walk rather than simply tolerate the other dogs around them.

If the match is wrong

We will suggest Solo Dog Walk or another service instead of forcing a group setting.

Who it suits

Local dog walking across Teesside

Small-group dog walking across Teesside for carefully matched dogs.

Social Dog Walk is a 60-minute group walk for dogs who genuinely enjoy suitable canine company.

The group is built around compatibility rather than simply filling spaces. We consider temperament, confidence, play style, energy and how comfortable each dog is around others before confirming a match.

That gives dogs room to settle into a familiar routine, sniff, move and enjoy the company around them without turning the walk into a crowded free-for-all.

If a dog becomes uncomfortable in a group or the match is not right, we will recommend another option rather than forcing the service to fit.

Choosing the right service

Useful before you book.

We do not try to fit every dog into the same service. The meet and greet, your dog's routine, confidence, energy, handling needs and location all help us decide what will work best.

Common questions

Social Dog Walk FAQs.

Practical answers about how the service works before you enquire.

How many dogs are on a Social Dog Walk walk?

We deliberately keep Social Dog Walk groups manageable and only place dogs together when the match is appropriate. The exact group can vary because temperament, confidence, play style, route and handling matter more than trying to fill a fixed number of spaces.

How do you decide which dogs can walk together?

We look at temperament, confidence, energy, play style, size, handling needs and how a dog behaves around others. The meet and greet and early walks help us decide whether group walking is genuinely enjoyable and appropriate for that individual dog.

What if my dog does not enjoy the group?

We will not force a dog to stay in a group setting that does not suit them. If they are anxious, reactive, overwhelmed or simply happier with individual attention, Solo Dog Walk or another service may be a better option.

Is Social Dog Walk a dog socialisation class?

No. Social Dog Walk is a walking service for dogs already suitable for a carefully matched group. It is not a behavioural class or a setting for deliberately exposing a dog to situations they find difficult.

Where is Social Dog Walk available?

Social Dog Walk is offered across our current routes in Middlesbrough, Redcar, Guisborough and Stockton-on-Tees. Availability depends on postcode, route capacity and whether there is a suitable group match for your dog.

Do I get an update after the group walk?

Yes. We provide a photo or short update after the walk so you know how your dog got on. If anything about the group, route or routine needs adjusting, we can discuss that before the next booking.
